Very Exciting Workshop 

 

DONATION OF ELECTRONIC EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ON FORTS & CASTLES TO THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM IN GHANA

A comprehensive multi-media interactive electronic literature of a research work about relics and curatorial narratives on selected Forts and Castles in Ghana was documented on DVD Rom as historical educational material for the promotion of Culture and Tourism in Educational Institutions. This was a major project I undertook after developing an Educational Technology for Interactive Electronic documentation, in my PhD research, for the introduction of distance education in Art Colleges.

This Educational Material was donated to the Ministry of Tourism in Ghana for the promotion of Culture and Tourism in Educational Institutions. 

The short ceremony of presentation was honoured by the Provost of the College of Art and Social Sciences (Professor Afranie).

Dr GODFRED ANNUM's FOREMOST DIGITAL PAINTING EXHIBITION at ALLIANCE FRANCAIS in KUMASI GHANA (6th February 2014)

Having introduced Digital Painting and Sculpture at KNUST in 2005, this is my major Digital Painting exhibition to demonstrate my dexterity in the field of computer artistry and the ability to employ the computer as a multimedia apparatus for painterly expression. 

This exhibition became a reality with the collaboration of Alliance Francais of Ghana, Kumasi Sector under the auspices of Director of Alliance Francaise in Kumasi, Miss Ingrid Hummel. Please read my statement of purpose (click here to download)..

My digital paintings are not computer generated as characteristic of many digital painters. I handle Adobe Photoshop virtual painting tools on a wide range of subject matter and colour schemes using the computer mouse, with the same prowess as I handle traditional painting applicators. I apply virtual colours to simulate painterly effects that are comparable to any easel or mural painting, in a style I classify as colouristic impressionism. I stylistically love to capture the expressive modes of my 'figures' and the alternating temperature variations characteristic of the tropical Ghanaian environment.
